I define true artificial intelligence as intelligence residing
on a substrate other than a biologically grown carbon-based neural
network.  (Possibly a silicon substrate fabricated with currently
available technology.)  

I believe that an intelligent system which pursues the goal of
knowledge acquisition over time will exhibit behavior indistinguishable
from that of a conscious sentient being with transient emotional states.
