Ahem. For all you city boys out there, parity refers to the relationship
in price between a bushel of wheat and a barrel of oil, fixed at
some point in the late sixties/early seventies. It does NOT refer to
prices supports/subsidies except in the sense that they might be
used to achieve parity.
