(this is what gives me a problem) The process I use (and have never had any trouble with (except for those few programs which are in trouble before I get my greasy hands on them)) is: 1) Save the stuff on the (Sun,Apollo,HP,DEC,IBM, whatever you're using) 2) edit header 3) combine & uudecode to get the *.arc file 4) At this point I use: a: PC/NFS to get it off the (whatever) system - or - b: download via kermit in binary mode - or - c: grab it via one of our PC emulators on the (whatever) systems That way I never have to fuss with the CR/LF mapping (even though kermit will handle that for me - as will uupc) and I just have the compressed binary to put on my PC at home.
