Well, the reason I suggested making Return-Receipt-To: a header just bit
me tonight.  I posted an article to a rather large mailing list, with
Return-Receipt-To: uunet!rosevax!raspail!steve in my elmheaders file (my
thanks to those who told me about that), and when I signed on and went
into elm, it told me "Mailbox is [...], with 151 messages".  I knew better,
but got caught anyway.  *sigh*
