I understand that different versions of sendmail have sometimes modified this ordering. In particular, I'm interested in the rulesets that derive the $g (address of sender relative to recipient) macro. From examining the sources I believe that the order is: 3, 0, 2, R, 4 but I'm not really sure of this. I have heard that this ordering is different on, say, Sun 3.2 based systems. If someone would post the raw data, I'd be happy to spend a few hours banging into a data flow diagram, (in PostScript) form, and then reposting it to this newsgroup, so everyone benefits.
