It's not Commodore that's abandoning the 1000, it's all the third party people. Commodore, however, is hastening its demise by not providing a credible upgrade path for 1000 owners. The 1000 is 100% software compatible with the 500 and 2000, and 80% hardware compatible with either. The only problem is that there's no easy way to put 2000 cards in the thing. Here's where C= can help. It wouldn't take much. Just a cheap 3-or-4-slot Zorro-2 enclosure to slap on the side. There mightn't be much money in it, but there'd be plenty of good P/R involved. It'd help convince people that Commodore was going to support the 500 and 2000 when the 3000 and 4000 come out. It's way more useful than any 1000-2000 upgrades. -- Peter "Have you hugged your wolf today" da Silva `-_-' Hackercorp. ...texbell!sugar!peter, or peter@sugar.uu.net 'U`
