Rob, you have the jumper on your Promodem set to pass "true" carrier detect signals. The jumper has to be moved to the other position (carrier detect alwatys high) in order to connect usinfg either AE or Kermit. Good luck. P.s. Put the jumper back again to use ProComm-A.
