I haven't written an editor as an external command; I might sometime,
but it would be a bit crippled, since there isn't a whole lot of RAM
left for external commands to use.

I usually use FreeWriter for quick editing tasks; I believe
FreeWriter is still in the public domain (not sure about FrEdWriter).
It's a SYS file, so it doesn't technicall run _under_ Davex the way
external commands to, but it's fairly small, so it loads quickly.

That appendix is usually left out of the uploaded package just
because it's big and most people won't want it.  It's always on the
disk that registered users get, and I'm happy to send it to anybody
who's interested.  I'll e-mail you a copy if I can get your address
to work, John; otherwise send me your U.S. mail address and I'll
mail you a disk.
