Last time I checked they were asking $1,299 for a Mega 2 mono system. Then contact Software Distributors of America (found on CompuServe and GEnie) and buy a Supra 30 meg drive $649. If you want one buy an extrenal SF314 DD drive for another $200 (really unecessary with the HD.) You've just spend a little over $2,000 and have one of the most powerful packages out there. C programming on the ST is a breeze and both Mark WIlliams an Laser are excellent. There is no such thing as a 1040+, The Mega 2 runs faster than the 1040 and has the blitter chip which makes a big difference in the speed of grpahic displays. Add another $400-500 for Spectre 128, a set of Mac Plus ROMS, and Happy's Discovery Cart and you have a premire Mac Plus emulator to boot that runs all major software packages at speeds that are *faster* than a real Mac Plus or SE. Strong rumors are also out that this year will see the intro of a hardware add on box for the ST that will allow AT emulation at 100% speeds. Enough said - enjoy! Pete
