No, IBM does not use Adeptec, but who knows that Adeptec did not
copy some old IBM standard entry offset.  I was merely proposing
another one of the known entry points, one of which might work because
it was some kind of 'standard'.  You are right, though, that this is
highly unlikely, but I would prefer to have as much information
as possible about unknown hardware in order to be able to try all
the possibilities.
