Another book which could be a real help is: A Programmer's Introduction to the Macintosh. Also by Addison-Wesley. According to Byte Book review (november 1988) is seems to be a good introductionin the aspects of the Macintosh-software. And also a sort of a guide to the Inside Macintosh. Annard.
