Message-ID: <222@h.cs.wvu.wvnet.edu> Date: 6 Jan 89 22:36:05 GMT Sender: news@h.cs.wvu.wvnet.edu Lines: 19 I've successfully downloaded IBM PC files in .arc format from SIMTEL20.ARPA many times, and recently tried some Macintosh files that were .sit (stuffit) files. I am on a VMS system using CMU TCP/IP and I know that the binary files get over properly (i.e. using TYPE L 8) because they download fine to my IBM PC and can be unpak'ed. I think the problem may be that when I download to the Mac using Kermit (binary, data fork), the files appear on the desktop as MacWrite documents and Stuffit won't recognize them. How can I get stuffit to open these files? Anyone out there know of a way to download .sit files successfully? -Cris --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | Cris Fuhrman | manager@a.coe.wvu.wvnet.edu (129.71.12.1) | | Comp Sys Manager | un020312@wvnvms.bitnet | | G-40B Eng Science Bldg. | "Just say NO to commercial file x-fers." | | WVU Morgantown, WV | - Kermit the Frog |
