I seem to recall some mention of this a couple of months back, but I don't recall the particulars. At $149 it is certainly the cheapest 2400 baud option. Is it fully Hayes compatible? Reliable? Would anyone recommend any of the other inexpensive 2400 baud modems over the Supra? 2) We have a LocalTalk zone of about 35 Macs. I am interested in the Shiva NetModem 2400 as a possible shared modem. Can anyone comment on the security provided for call in users? (I understand it is a password system..How secure is it?) Also, their ads show the ability to have a remote Mac dial in using any modem and be able to look like they are in the LocalTalk zone (print to LaserWriters, use TOPS, etc.) Has anyone tried this? How well does it work? Am I correct that the other modem does not have to be a Shiva? Thanks in advance for the info Ken Hoyme Honeywell Systems and Research Center (612)782-7354 3660 Technology Dr., Minneapolis, MN 55418 Internet: hoyme@src.honeywell.com
