With respect to your attempt to run your 1000-HX version of DeskMate 2 on
your 1000-SX ....

The DeskMate "Core" is contained in ROM on the 1000-HX.  This includes, amoung
other things, all of the DeskMate video routines.  There is no reasonable way to
copy the ROMed code onto a floppy.

If you have a "legal" version of the DeskMate 2 manual, you can take it to
Radio Shack for a discount on DeskMate 3 which will contain the files you
need along with substantially upgraded everything else.
