Message-ID: <162@karhu.tut.FI> Date: 22 Dec 88 11:15:34 GMT Organization: Tampere University of Technology, Finland Lines: 30 Hello! We are building an experimental real-time robot control system. It is based on transputers. The clumsy part of our present setup is that all I/O goes through the IBM PC/AT (we have a Definicon board in the AT bus). If it were possible to do I/O directly from the transputer board to the robot, things would be more sound. However, the robot (PUMA) requires a parallel communication interface (two unidirectional 16-bit wide ports, plus some handshake lines). The question: Is there a product that would convert transputer links to parallel ports, and which could be plugged into the AT bus? There would have to be more than one port. I have seen an ad (which I have lost) about a programmable interval timer & I/O ports. Was it Definicon? Could anyone provide more information on this? Thank you in advance! -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- !
