    I am using TeX (the PCTeX version, but I dont think that matters)
and have two different \settabs formats I use a lot.  I tried macros:
 
      \def\tabone{\settabs\+ ...}  \def\tabtwo{\settabs\+...}
 
so that I could type \tabone or \tabtwo as needed.  I got error messages
saying things like "runaway definition."
