Message-ID: <8812270341.AA02477@decwrl.dec.com> Date: 27 Dec 88 06:41:00 GMT Organization: Digital Equipment Corporation Lines: 21 Can MSWindows support more than 16-colors? If so, do any of the graphics board manufacturers support more? The reason I ask this question is that I own a Vega-VGA board from Video-7. In addition to normal EGA and VGA support for windows, Video 7 also provides Windows drivers for higher resolutions: 800 x 600 and 720 x 540. However, these drivers support just 16 colors. I was hoping for a Windows driver that would support 320 x 200 x 256 COLORS! (From what I have seen of the quality of GIF pictures in this VGA mode, I would think that this tradeoff of resolution for color-quality would be welcomed by many.) Can anyone know of ANY manufacturer supporting this VGA mode under MSWindows?
