Though it refers to recent features like -fstrength-reduce, gcc.1
still claims:

	.TH GCC 1 "8 July 1988" "Version 1.24"

while gcc.texinfo claims:

	@center last updated 21 December 1988
	...
	@center for version 1.32

I agree that the Emacs-browsable Info nodes should be the Final
Authority as to what's current, but an internally-inconsistent manual
page is bound to confuse some people.
