Lines: 19 I have seen this all too often here but have been able to track it down to a problem related to 'vi'. Elm creates a temporary file of it's own, if you write the contents of the buffer to a different file 'vi' sets the update flag to true. Now if you do a ZZ 'vi' thinks it has already updated the Elm created temporary file and writes nothing to it. I have been able to replicate this both in and out of Elm using 'vi'. The only fix I know of, no source liscence, is to tell the users about the potential problem. ------ Bob Pete ARPANET : pete%hpmwtd@hplabs.hp.com UUCP : ...hplabs!hpmwtd!pete Phone : (707) 577-3321 US MAIL : Hewlett Packard, Microwave Technology Division 1412 Fountaingrove Parkway Santa Rosa, Ca. 95401
