In particular, these are the sorts of things I would like to be able to do: - send ascii text in an attractive font to a remote fax machine - send bitmaps (tiff, gif, or other format) in greyscale to a remote fax - keep a dialing directory of remote sites by name - invoke the sending program from the command line somewhat like as follows: fax -file c:\pix\diagram.gif -format gif -to fax.cc.umich.edu where fax.cc.umich.edu is a number in my dialing directory The target application is to use a machine running doubledos and KA9Q to act as an SMTP to FAX outbound gateway. --Ed Edward Vielmetti, U of Michigan Computing Center electronic communication group fax # 313-763-4434
