Message-ID: <1054@unm-la.UUCP> Date: 20 Jan 89 01:54:49 GMT Organization: University of New Mexico - Los Alamos Lines: 32 Hi, I've been trying to add some new accounts for users to the /etc/passwd file. After each change on the root file disk -- even with "rc" -- I am no longer able to use the root disk. I've tried to use the file system check on the start up menu but, it gives me a fatal error and stops. Here's what the screen looks like when it loads RAM off of the root... Memory size = 640K MINIX = 89K RAM disk = 55K Available = 496K Loading RAM disk from root diskette. Loaded : 0K Unrecoverable disk error From here, it goes ahead and loads the rest of RAM... Any ideas on why this happens? One more question, how to I get MINIX to load more memory for the RAM disk? Thanks, Patrick McCormick mcormick@unm-la.LANL.GOV lanl!unm-la!mcormick@uunet.uu.net
