Other manufacturers used a straight-through cable. If you have the cable with the twist, then both drives should be set up to select the second drive (ie: ds1 if labelled ds0..3, ds2 if labelled ds1..4). Otherwise, the A drive should be selected as d0, and the B drive as d1. The drive at the end of the connector chain (drive A if you have a standard IBM PC) must have a terminator resistor package in place.
