Suffice to say that a) we *finally* got in touch with a technical person, b) that technical person exhibited *none* of the traits which caused the original flame (which, in my experience, has always been true of technical people; they are without exception always ready to help :-) :-) :-) :-), c) we got the patch last Friday, installed it, and reloaded, annndddd finally D) THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN RUNNING JUST FINE EVER SINCE !!!!! Now, I'm not quite sure exactly what *was* going on down there. (We're 'way up here in the great white north.) Perhaps the front line telephone filters were a bit too efficient. Whatever, it doesn't matter now. The system is stable, and we can get on with investigating functionality problems. My thanks to all who mailed sympathy cards and who suggested alternative s/w. Having started the process of looking at other solutions, we will likely follow this through. Finally, THANKYOU to Jeffrey Busma who got us out of this one with intact skin. Brent.
