You would think this Perhaps some of you would take a hand in convincing IBM that an empty line should exist. My system (MVS TSO on an IBM 3090 etc.) refuses to store "zero length" records. (Lines are of course "records".) On another note, perhaps the standards should be more careful to define things like "blank line". My interpretation would be "a line with zero or more blanks, but no other characters".
