However, to actually post the dataset as news is a bad idea. Most of this data would be of interest only to a small minority of users. A better apporach would be to handle it like comp.archives in which articles could be posted as to the existence of datasets along with instructions as to how to retrieve the data, them those users who need a particular dataset could retrieve it and we would not have to ship the data all over.
