I would like some way to keep track of this, like keeping an index file in each directory, with the file name, and a short description of each file. I am not sure how to maintain the index files however -- you can create a file in a directory a lot of different ways. Does anyone know of any programs that would be of any help? (I am looking for something for Unix)
