Lines: 17 My experience as a system administrator is that most security holes that are exploited in a non-research UNIX environment are the simple security holes of writable directories and system files, suid programs, poor passwds, etc. Many times these problems are created through time by sys admin mistakes or other errors. To protect against these problems I am looking for software, shell scripts, and crontab entries that people have written to check system security on a regular basis. I know as a system administrator I have written a few, albeit simple, shell scripts my self. Has any one taken the time to type in the shell scripts that are listed in the "UNIX System Security" by Wood and Kochan? I would like to see any thing people have written, even if you think it is obvious.
