I haven't seen anything in the pd that will work the Laserjet.  Everything
I have seen printed looks pretty crappy (compared to softfonts).

There are a few relatively cheap commercial products out that do a *great*
job of controlling the Laserjet.  JetSet by C Ltd. (~ $70) lets you take
full control of the Laserjet.  They also sell softfonts for ~ $36 per set.
JetSet will create data tables for CityDesk and WordPerfect.

C Ltd. will release JetMaster soon which will let you do global editing of
softfonts.  

I've been very happy with JetSet and CityDesk.  Who needs Postscript??
