But to continue, The chip with the joystick is a 74LS157 not a 74HCT157 as in the schematics, since the schematics are for the older A2000. I'm not sure what would happen if you used an HCT part, but I think cmos and TTL interfacing doesn't work well. I tried a 74157 (not low power schotky) and that had real wierd effects.
