Have you tried the PAL-grounding trick? The Starboard is pretty low-load, but with the extra load of the Lucas, and the high-noise on the signal lines, things may get too low/noisy. Your needing an "F" part instead of an "ls" part may also be a symptom of this. Grounding the pals should reduce the noise, and may make the starboard work.
