Well, I sold my old modem and have borrowed my friend's Practical Peripherals 1200SA. When I try to use it with Applelink it dials correctly but has problems connecting. I have called Apple and have changed the switches to as follows: sw1: Support use of DTR sw2: Full word result codes sw3: Result code enabled sw4: Command echo off sw5: Auto answer enabled sw6: Support use of DCD sw7: Not used sw8: Enable commands sw9: Bell 103/212a sw10: M/S Ratio - USA It still didn't work! Also, when I tried calling local BBS's with these settings or the default settings, I would get garbage characters appearing when it prompts me for action (usually these { ) and my input would be garbled. It seems that it is receiving OK, but it is not transmitting properly. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
