(Modem Set-up, part 2) Message-ID: <8901101517.aa29243@SMOKE.BRL.MIL> Date: 10 Jan 89 19:08:09 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 35 I forgot to include some info in my last posting. The default setup for the Practical Peripherals 1200SA are as follows: sw1: Ignore DTR sw2: Full-word result codes sw3: Result code enabled sw4: Command Echo ON sw5: Auto Ans. disabled sw6: Ignore DCD sw7: Not used sw8: Enable commands sw9: BELL 103/212A sw10: M/S Ratio - USA Right now when I connect, garbage characters appear anytime the BBS prompts me for input. In other words, I can read what the BBS is sending me, but I can't send anything back because it inserts garbage. At almost every prompt the "{" character appears, and my typing appears as random characters. By the way, this is when I am using Apple Access //. My Applelink disk dials and connects, but then is stays on connect for about 30 seconds, hangs up, calls the second number, hangs up, and comes back with the "error code #01" message. Everything worked fine with my 300 bps switchless Prometheus modem, but that's gone now. Can anyone help me?
