I have a //e, and I keep a mono and a color monitor hooked up to it.  I
walked into Radio Shack with the cable and bought a "Y" connector and
another cable, matching end-genders appropriately.  The salesman
suggested a signal splitter, which does something electronic to maintain
signal strength, but I told him I'd see how the monitors looked with
just the "Y".  The color is a bit dimmer when it's sharing the output
with the monochrome (even when only one is turned on), but not enough to
bother with the additional cost.  Cost this way was a few dollars
($5?).I don't see why this wouldn't work just as well with a //c, since
you say that all you're doing now is replugging cable.
