I was hoping (as I expect a lot of others on the net were) that this would die quietly and I wouldn't have to waste net-space to argue it. The intro information that each user is supposed to read regarding usenet "policy" basically says that usenet is *NOT* to be used for blatant advertisement. It's impossible to discuss new products without mentioning them, or to recommend dealers, so this is not a black and white area, but direct posting of advertising material is STRONGLY discouraged. Since, last time I read one, these "magazines" contained such ads and, their copyright clause forced them to be included in all copies, they are NOT POSTABLE simply by virtue of usenet policies. PS. As a side note, I also don't read them since I find their content to be somewhat shallow (too much rumor-mongering) and often biased, but my argument against thier posting is founded on entirely different grounds. -- Dale Schumacher 399 Beacon Ave. (alias: Dalnefre') St. Paul, MN 55104 ...pwcs!stag!syntel!dal United States of America "It's not reality that's important, but how you perceive things."
