It used about 20% more disc space than the standard configuration. I would recommend a single file system on the root disc for convenience. This is my personal feeling but I found the sectioning of the root disc is just not worth the effort. Sectioning of other discs can be beneficial. HP gives you the choice. Some info: Section 13 allows a boot area and good sized swap. Section 13 is only supported in Rev 3.0 of HP-UX. You cannot create a Section 13 with 8K/8K at install time. I used two discs, installing on one, then newfs'ing the second with 8K/8K, copying the root area and files to the second disc, booting off the second after switching addresses and reinitializing the original.
