Have you tried using the DOS command:

	COPY /B file PRN

When the LJ runs out of paper, DOS (or somebody) issues the message:
"device not ready, retry or abort?".  After clearing the LJ problem,
a simple "r" keystroke causes the printer to resume exactly where it
left off.  Don't forget the "/B" switch on the command line.
