Yes, there really is a program that turns ZOO archives into self-
extracting executables.  The program is called "sez".  The problem is
that lots of people don't trust executables anymore; a self-extracting
executable archive can be a vehicle for a tidily packaged trojan-horse
program.

The most recent version of ZOO that I've seen is v2.01.
