Oh well, I am probably in a minority here... > > -=- > --- Christopher Schanck, mammal at large. > schanck@flounder.cis.ohio-state.edu The stand alone debugger has FAR more functionality than the built-in one, so I would expect to pay extra for it anyway. $150 - $180 (discount price) for the standalone debugger, c compiler and assembler, (and an integrated environment, if you can use it) seems cheap to me, compared to say $300+ for MSC 5.0. In my opinion the standalone debugger is one of the best c level debuggers I have ever had the pleasure to use, and I have used MANY Emulators, debuggers and machine code monitors!! Additionally if you are lucky enough to have a 386 system with > 1MB you almost get a hardware emulator builtin. This allows you to set up global breakpoints with no slowing down of your code at all, and the code can run at the same address it would run if it were stand-alone. How they can release quality code like that for the price they do is beyond me, but my wallet and sanity thanks them.
