Message-ID: <3463@arcturus> Date: 20 Jan 89 17:43:54 GMT Distribution: na Organization: Rockwell International, Anaheim, CA Lines: 23 Yes, I am still trying to set up my father's PC with Procomm(3.1), and have pretty well determined that the problem is at his end. I have been "talking" with a friend in San Bernadino, and we have both successfully played "host," transferring files both ways. I believe that there might be a problem with the modem on Dad's PC - Procomm's host mode requires CD to follow true state, and some modems apparently come from the factory with a switch set to make CD always high (wish I had a switch like that B^). Well, I DID RTFM, but TFM only had info on the 1200 baud EXternal version. It described a DIP switch with 8 different switches, whereas Dad's modem has a DIP with only four switches. A call to Anchor revealed that those switches are supposedly only for setting the COMx port. Does anyone have any info on how to check and/or set the CD on one of these suckers? Does anyone really know what time it is? Does anyone really care? Mitch @ Rockwell, Anaheim Disclaimer: I TOLD him to buy the external 2400 baud bitch! Does he listen? NAHHHHHHH!
