If you are a beginning programmer, get the Transkel package (version 2
is the latest.)  It is explicitly public domain so it is free and
you won't have to worry about someone else owning the rights to
anything you produce.  Transkel is available for both C and Pascal
(Lightspeed) from sumex-2060.stanford.edu (anonymous ftp.  Do the following:
        ftp sumex-2060.stanford.edu
        login: anonymous
        password: david@rondo
        cd <info-mac>
        dir trans*
        mget fname1 fname2 ...
        quit
)
