I don't see the point of adopting a standard, if you pervert it for your own evil purposes....Apple! Anyway, my Quantum CMS-80 drive ALSO has a unique ROM chip, written by CMS, to implement "APPLE SCSI". I suspect that if you buy a generic SCSI drive, it won't work.
