I did it about four or five months ago and it made the Mac II very quiet. Until last month. When the fan started sounding just like the old one. It was almost like it hadn't been working (the new one was so quiet). I've tried blowing air around; it does get very dusty in there. It seems like the bearings are gone. I'll probably replace the fan again assuming I got a bum fan from the shack. Oh well.
