Re Shiva NetModem:  We have purchased Shiva's NetSerial, to which we
have attached an external 2400b modem (Practical Peripherals).  We
prefer that because it is more flexible; i.e., we can attach a different
modem or different serial device in the future.

It works just fine as shared modem for calling out.  Good product.

For calling in, it works functionally as advertised; i.e., you can simply
print to the laserprinter, etc.  However, be aware that, with a 2400b
modem, the speed to the printer is 100x slower than you're used to on
a direct appletalk (240Kb) link.  That is, it is SLOW!
