Has anyone ported awk to the Mac or have any ideas on how I might go about doing
it?

Also, I've been playing with MacCompress and MacTAR and I find that after I
create and upload a file the unix system won't recognize them as being in
compressed or tar archive format. Has anyone gotten these programs to work?
