Not so!  The HP-71B (the best handheld ever produced--if it only had a bigger
display) did have simple time and date functions that allowed many people 
to write some very good time/appointment programs.  I wish I still had some
to post--my 71 has been replaced by an HP 9000 (yes, it took that much!).
