Lines: 43 Has anyone had any experience with merging 4.3 and NFSSRC for the vax (750, 780, microvax)? I have the original distribution of 4.3BSD and the 3.2/4.3 NFS SRCVAX (version 3.2?) distribution, and have tried to put a vanilla kernel together with little or no luck. For instance, when I run the 4.3/NFS kernel, I get user-level write errors on anything but small filesystems (ie. can't create an FS over an entire RM05). I guess I have three main questions: 1 - Has anyone successfully merged the original BSD4.3 distribution with NFS? If so, what NFS SRC version did you use? What troubles, if any, did you come up against? 2 - Has anyone had any experiences with the 4.3BSD "Tahoe release"? Merging it with nfs? If so, what version? Would you recommend the purchase of the "Tahoe release"? 3 - Has anyone had any experiences with MTXINU? I understand that they are using "Tahoe 4.3" with version 4.0 NFS in their product. I have some literature from them, but I also have paid an awful bunch of money already for the v3.2/4.3 NFS SRCVAX fomr Sun and would like to try to avoid an additional expense $6K (additional CPU's, USERS...) My LAN consists of several VAXES (730, 750, 780, 785, micro), SUN4's IRIS', Sequent, etc. So, whatever I end up with must fit in nicely with the current NFS environment (BSD/SYS5/DYNIX...). Also to be considered: there are many local 4.2 device drivers that will need to be ported to the new 4.3/NFS. With these considerations in mind, any assistance/experiences/recommendations you can impart upon me, would be greatly appreciated.
