It seems that Xsun has a predefined order that it searches for an 'installed' frame buffer. In our case it found /dev/fb (b&w) before cgfour0. Starting up xinit as follows solved the problem: xinit -- Xsun -dev /dev/cgfour0 if on the other hand, you've tried that... never mind -- Don't take life too seriously, it ain't nohow permanent - Pogo ...{decwrl|ucbvax}!imagen!atari!daisy!turner (James M.
