you might want to try the following:

is your Sun 3/60 configured for thicknet (level 2) ours came configured
for thin net and displayed the same problems (It's a jumper on the
cpu board)

is your ethernet cable good ? (put a sniffer on it, if you have one)

run the system diag for ethernet
