I think that the rmail summary mode is a better mode for reading mail. It allows the use of the message summary as a "road map" for reading message especially when there is a large number of new messages to be read. For example-junk messages can be deleted without being read, important messages can be read and tend to first, other messages can be filed for latter review, etc. Willie
