How can I "find" the definition of a particular function, say,
find-file...?

Then, I could make a copy and customize it.

In ZMacs, there is a function called edit-definition which did
exactly this.  I suppose I could use find-tag, but then I have
no idea what tag table to use.  Is there a tag table with tags for all 
GnuEmacs functions?
